People and roles
How people join your organisation, the roles they can hold, and what each role may do.
Who can sign in, and what they may do once they have, works differently in Mojo Up AI Cloud and in self-hosted AIOE. In Mojo Up AI Cloud you invite people and give them a role in the console. In self-hosted AIOE, your identity provider decides who signs in, and app roles there decide what they may do.
Roles
Every member of a team has one role:
| Role | What they may do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin does, and make or unmake owners. A team always keeps at least one owner. |
| Admin | Invite and manage people, and administer the team's workbenches, policies and secrets. |
| Member | Use the team's workbenches, projects and catalogue. |
Your own Personal space is yours alone: your workbenches, projects and settings, seen by nobody else. To work with other people, create a team (see Create a team).
Invite people
Open the team
Switch to the team at the top of the sidebar, then open Team.
Send the invitation
Choose Invite people, enter the person's email address, choose Admin or Member, and choose Send invitation. They get an email with a link. The console also shows the link, so you can send it another way.
They accept
The person opens the link and signs in with any account that uses the invited address: Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Facebook, or a code emailed to them. The address must be one their sign-in has verified. They join the team with the role you chose.
An invitation link works once and lasts seven days. Waiting invitations are listed under Invitations on the Team page, with when the next one ends. If a link has ended, send a new one.
Change a role or remove someone
On the Team page, owners and admins change a person's role from the list and remove someone with Remove from the team. Only an owner makes someone an owner or changes an owner's role, and the last owner's role cannot be changed until someone else is an owner. Owners and admins rename the team from the More menu, where anyone can also choose Leave team.
Single sign-on and provisioning
Single sign-on through your own identity provider, and provisioning people with SCIM, are coming to Mojo Up AI Cloud. If you need them now, self-hosted AIOE signs people in with your identity provider today.
Project roles
Inside a project, every member also has a project role, in both editions:
| Project role | What they may do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Manage the project's members, repositories, source, policy, secrets and teams. |
| Contributor | Work on the project: its boards, memory, risks and runs. |
| Viewer | Read the project. |
