Approvals and the inbox

Answer agents' tool permissions, decisions and other requests from your phone.

When an agent needs your permission to run a tool, or a decision waits on you, the request reaches your organisation's inbox, and from there your phone. You answer it in the app; the answer goes back to the workbench or node the agent runs on, and is recorded in the audit log under your name.

The inbox

Tap the Inbox button on Workbenches (it shows how many are unread). The inbox gathers approvals, decisions and changes from the projects you are on.

OpenEverything not yet done.

EverythingThe whole list.

Each card says whether it Needs you, is For you, or is for your information (FYI), and carries the buttons the request itself offers: approve or deny, the options of a decision, and so on. A card with nothing to answer has Mark read and Done.

When nothing waits, the inbox says Nothing waiting.

Approve a tool permission

Open the request

Tap the notification, or open the card in the Inbox, or open the workbench and its Approvals tab.

Read what the agent wants to do

The card says what the agent wants to do. Some requests offer more than approve or deny; on a workbench's Approvals tab, tap More choices to see them.

Answer

Tap Approve or Deny. If nobody answers, the request is refused after a while: nobody answering means no.

Your organisation's policy decides which risk levels may be approved from a remote device such as your phone; high-risk approvals are refused from a phone unless the policy allows them. When an approval is refused this way, the card shows why, and you answer it at the workbench instead.

An approval waiting on a node is held while it waits for you in the inbox (for 30 minutes by default), so you have time to answer it from your phone.

Sign a node in to your subscription

When a node needs to use one of your own AI subscriptions and is not yet signed in, a sign-in request arrives in your inbox. Tap Open sign-in, then enter the code, sign in on the page that opens, then paste what the page asks for into the field (The code the page shows after you sign in, or The address your browser ends on) and tap Send to the machine. The card says Sent. The machine is finishing the sign-in. See Your subscriptions.

What you cannot answer from the phone yet

  • Open questions an agent asks over the workbench's own channel are counted on a workbench's Agents tab, but are answered in the workbench.
  • Approving nodes and their surfaces is done in the console.
