MojoFlow

Privacy and your data

What MojoFlow keeps on your computer, what it sends over the internet, and where its files are.

MojoFlow is built so that what you say stays on your computer. Speech recognition and clean-up both run on your own hardware, with models downloaded once. There is no MojoFlow account, and no audio or text is sent to Mojo Up or anyone else.

What goes over the internet

WhatWhenWhat is sent
Update checkOnce a day, if Check once a day is on, and when you choose Check nowA request for the latest version. Nothing about you or your computer.
Update downloadWhen an update is found and background downloads are on, or when you choose to updateA request for the installer.
Model downloadsOnly when you choose DownloadRequests for the model files, from Hugging Face, where the models are published.

MojoFlow never downloads a model on its own. The AI Workbench link, when used, stays on your computer.

What is kept on your computer

WindowsLinux
Folder%LOCALAPPDATA%\MojoFlow~/.local/share/MojoFlow

In that folder:

  • your settings and your dictionary;
  • your history, only if Keep history between restarts is on (turning it off deletes it);
  • the models;
  • downloaded updates, removed once they are used;
  • errors.log, a record of anything that went wrong, which helps support when you send it.

Audio is held in memory for the length of a dictation and never written to disk.

Typing for you

To type into other apps, MojoFlow watches for your push-to-talk key. On Windows it sees key presses only to recognise your shortcut, and keeps no record of them. On Linux, the optional keyboard rule lets your own user read the keyboard for the same purpose, and on most desktops typing needs the permission you grant during setup. MojoFlow also checks which app is in front, to apply per-app rules and to label your history.

The Windows installer is signed by Mojo Up, and every update is verified before it runs.
